CAMP PENDLETON ---- A 19-year-old Marine was killed and two others injured in a training accident on base Friday, Marine officials said Saturday.
The single-vehicle accident happened at 4:11 p.m. on 15th Street near E Street, a Marine spokesman said. Further details about the accident were not available.
Pfc. Terrell Warrior, 19, of Tulsa, Okla., died in the accident.
Pfc. Juan Olvera, 22, of Gering, Neb., and Pfc. Byron Wilson, 20, of Orangevale, were both taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment of their injuries, the Marine spokesman said. Wilson has since been released, he said.
All three were in the 1st Transportation Support Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group and all worked as engineer equipment operators.
