A friend in Iraq....

Classification: UNCLASSIFIED

Merry Christmas. Santa has come and GONE safely throughout the AO. He was escorted by fixed and rotary wing as well as assigned QRF on standby.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable day with friends and family.

Please take time to remember the real meaning of Christmas and to remember the fallen and those who are serving throughout the globe.

No snow here but pretty darn chilly (mid 30’s).

Last night (Christmas Eve), we senior enlisted Marines hung stockings filled with goodies through the billeting areas. We started around 2200 and ended just shy of the midnight hour. It was quite cold as well. Christmas day has pretty much ended as night falls. The Commandant of the Marine Corps
was on board today (25th) and ate the lunch meal with us prior to circulating throughout our AO. The Chaplains also were on the move since noon the 24th and through out Christmas Day bringing worship to those posts
in the far reaches of the AO. On a solemn note, we lost 1 Soldier early the 24th to an rpg attack and lost 1 Marine on the evening of the 24th to an ied. We pray for the families. December is coming to a close. More to follow.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

I was reminded today that one of the reasons we are here is to keep the
“Extremist Ideology from going Mainstream” in our own country.

This allows our fellow citizens from having to worry as they celebrate a holiday tradition.

Ho Ho Ho.

Semper Fidelis and Godspeed,
