Marine's family receives Purple Heart

Brownsburg - The family of an Indiana Marine killed along with two other Marines by a bomb blast in Iraq received his posthumous Purple Heart Sunday at a memorial service in Brownsburg.
Family and friends remembered 20-year-old Lance Corporal James Davenport as quiet, but always ready and willing to laugh. They also recalled his willingness to serve his country.
The Danville native was killed last onth when a roadside bomb exploded as he was driving a Humvee during combat operations in Iraq's Anbar province. Two other Marines also were killed.
