I am getting ready to go attend a Candlelight Vigil for a Marine that was killed in Iraq from my neighborhood. I was wondering if I could get some moral support for the family. Just a word to let them know we all hurt. Please, I talk alot of mess but I am asking for as much support as possible. Also included is the link to the story.....

Got back from the vigil and man was it heartbreaking. Should have clarified earlier. If everyone could send support towards the family because I wanted to print each post and give them to the family. So please lets keep political comments or personal views of the war out. Thanks again Marines.

"LCPL Yepson, DISMISS!", and enter into the rest of the LORD.

We shall see you again at the great morning muster in heaven's scene, where the streets are guarded by United States Marines.

May the comfort of the LORD JESUS CHRIST be with your family at this time of loss. It is because of Him that we have hope beyond physical death.

Just wanted to say thanks for the 11 people that responded to this thread. A Marine ask for a simple favor and I get minimal help. Sad to see the only threads that get responses are of the political view. So much for BROTHERHOOD. To the ones that did respond your replies where sent to the family. I did it even though I was embarrased, but it is the thought and kind words that counts. Alot of the Marines should be ashamed of themselves. I knew this Marine and I guess that is way I am taking it a little personal.

Some of the Marines on this site have tarnished it with their political beliefs and hatred of the Goverment. It has gotten to the point where Marines can't even shoot the sh*t without having a far right or far left nutjob come out and stir up a sh*t storm. I really don't ever remember discussing politics while I was in, do you? Maybe I should have some kind of political banter on here so it could have gotten more responses. I am just shocked on how everyone claims We are Brothers, and then I see true colors on here. I am a straight to the point no BS type of person and I live and breath Espirit de Corps and Semper Fidilis every day. I was taught that from the first day in boot to the last day in the Corps. And No it isn't BRAINWASHING BS has some idiots might say. It seems that alot of Marines have lost that and some seem just to live by it at times when it is beneficial.

I am off the soap box and I am sure I will be called ignorant or some other clever name calling. I might even get a copy and paste response if I am lucky. Merry Christmas and God Bless the Corps and Our Country

I haven't been on this site for about 2 weeks because quite frankly I got bored of arguing politics with you guys

So I'm assuming this post is directed at me

The fact is, politics go right out the window. It doesn't matter if you're right or left, democrat or republican, pro war or anti war, the fact is that we are all Americans and we are all Marines

and the loss of Lance Corporal Yepson pains me just as much as anyone else, even if I did not know this young man in person. One thing I do know is that he fought for his country and the ideals he believed in, and he made the ultimate sacrifice. I have the greatest respect and admiration for this young man and hope that one day I can be half the man he was.

Rest in Peace Luke Yepsen...you will not be forgotten.

Dear Marines,
My husband and I can't thank you enough for you support and
kindness given to us. This is a nightmare for both of us.
During the week of waiting, the Marines that gave us support
reminded us of why Luke so badly wanted to be part of this
incredible organization. Luke was a passionate Marine.
He upheld the honor and all that you stand for.
After Luke's body came home and he waited at the funeral home,
there were Marines that stood at his side, 24/7. I spent many
of the hours resting there, trying to grasp the last few hours
to gaze upon my son. I got to talk to some of you and
my sadness is extended that I will no longer be part of all
that Luke loved.
Thank you men, for everything and for honoring my son's memory.

Ma'am, we all feel the loss. Believe me. Although I never knew your son, as I said in an earlier post, perhaps it will give you some small comfort to know he is now among the Immortals. He will never be forgotten.

If there is anything you or your family needs, please do not hesitate to ask your Marine family.

Semper Fidelis.
