Marines in Iraq need a few good DVDs

December 14, 2006

Sheila Malamut of Easton is doing her part to keep those serving in Iraq entertained. She is collecting used DVDs to send to Marines.

Her 24-year-old son, Paul Nee, is serving in the Marines in Ramadi with about 1,200 others in his unit. Malamut said people can help by dropping off movies they no longer need at Hollywood Video at 15 Roberts Drive in the Hannaford plaza. Malamut so far has shipped 90 DVDs.

She can be e-mailed at sa818@comcast.net.

"These Marines are not on a base and they are putting their lives on the line every time they step outside, and the least I can do when they come back to rest is donate movies to take their minds off of their work for a few hours," she said.
