My son is going to San Diego St. in the Army ROTC program. He got a full ride scholarship. He is now thinking of joining the Marines with the OCS program. He loves the military. My dad was in the army for 21 years. Got drafted while working at Pearl Harbor shipyard during WWII. My father in law was a 20 year navy man. I didn't serve but had a draft # in the crazy years of the Vietnam era. I want him to make his right choice.
He said in OCS he'll just train for 2 summers. 1 after his freshman year and 1 after his junior year, then get commissioned after college. He aslo said they would give him money every year to help pay for college. He said it comes out to about $10,000 a year. Does anyone have imput on this topic.
