This really does suck, but here's the rub...if he had, in fact, gotten a prior deuce, the usual punishment is a "probation before judgement" and a fine. No jail time. Not in the great socialist republic of Maryland. And, there is a really, really, good chance that the courts would not have deported him, as they are very good about not asking for a persons 'status'.

I hate drunk drivers of any nationality, and think the minimum penalty for doing it nowadays should be 60 days in jail for a first offense. No plea bargains. You kill someone driving drunk? Death penalty case.

Naturally, none of that will ever happen, thank the trial lawyer lobby and the ACLU for that crap.

On top of that, here in Nebraska some bone-headed State Senator is actually trying to get legislation passed that would allow illegal aliens to get a legal drivers license.

Yeah. Next thing you know the border patroll is going to start awarding prizes to them when they make it over.

I have mixed feelings on the whole illegal alien with a DL idea. On one hand, it seems like we are rewarding these people (like hoyt says) with a DL for coming here. On the other, being in Law Enforcement, making them pass the same tests and requirements to drive that everyone else does, does make sense. Believe me, there are worse drivers out there, I see em every day.

The 'plus' side of giving these people DL's is that enforcement action can be taken against them, there is at least an address where the cops can start looking for them when they screw up, and they've had to pass drivers licensing requirements just like the rest of us.

Fervently hoping they won't drive because they don't have a license is like not bringing an umbrella when the weatherman says it's gonna rain. You know your gonna get wet, but hope you can run between the raindrops.

It's a terrible shame these young people died. Period. What makes it disgusting is that the culpable person should never have been in this country!

I'm all in favor of ANYONE coming to this country to better their lives...as long as they do it legally, and go through the process. I have no tolerance for "illegal aliens" whether they're from Mexico, Mozambique, or Mars!

If it was up to me, I'd build a 40ft. wall along the entire southern border...one mile in, on our side. That one mile strip would be the "Dead Zone" like the prison camp at Andersonville. Anyone in "the zone" is fair game. Fill it with razor wire, trip flares, land mines, punji pits, and motion-activated machine guns. And thousands of signs in Spanish that say, "You'll be sorry..."
Finally, I'd put an M-2 50cal. every quarter mile on top of the wall. Let the vigilantes man the guns with orders..."If it's out there, and it moves...Kill it!"

Then, maybe...just maybe...our southern friends would get the message.

Alcohol and drugs have killed more service members than our enemies have, in just such incidents as this marine and his girlfriend experienced.

Actually, alcohol causes more death, destruction and despair in the American society annually than nicotine ever thought of causing.

Maybe a class action suit against the liquor and beer industries is in order?

Now that would take some balls...... and $$$$$$$$.

HELL, our dumbass politicians in D.C., can't get off their recess-taking asses to do anything about ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION let alone the liquor and beer industry. We have WASTE on the hill in D.C. now - NONE of our elected politicians do what the people who voted their asses in there want!!!!!!!
This will definitely come back to bite the American people in the ass in the not too distant future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SEMPER FI,

OLE SARG, bringing my brother home from the doctor today, I had a gentleman taxi cab driver from Arabia cut me off in traffic causing me to stop suddenly and then a gentleman from Mexico without a drivers license plowed into the rear of my car.

The future is here http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/18.gif

I was thinking about moving to France, but my grandsons gymnastic teacher a Frenchman advised me not too, while he was riding though Paris on a bus he was the only European on a full bus, also that part of Paris too. He said he felt like he was in Africa.

Maybe I should move to Japan where my wife's from, it's just that there, I don't like paying $25 for a watermelon the size of an extra large cantaloupe, or for bacon, eggs, toast & coffee, shesh !

Things are really getting bad when a guy can't even move to France. I wonder if Alec Baldwin will be coming back ?

Have you read, "The Death of the West", by Pat Buchanan yet ?
