Just wanted to see how many pooles were shipping out Jan 8th 2007 the same day as me... So are you guys/girls ready for it????:banana:
I too am shipping out on Jan 8th to MCRD PI. I'm fired up to go and get my chance to earn the title.
I'm supposed to head to PI on the 8th but I've been given a chance to go Dec. 27th instead. Haven't decided yet...
Leave for PI Janurary 8, 2007 maybe we'll see eachother and be in the same platoon

Man, alot of ppl starting on the 8th. More reason for me to try to leave on Dec. 27th.

thats cool.. ship out on the 27th.. when there arent alot of recruits.. gives the di's more time to focus on your mistakes.. no, i wasnt a fan of small classes..

Yea, but we'll only have 4 days of processing. Besides, more attn. from the DIs = more PT = stronger recruits! And we'll have a bit of hair when you all get there!
LOL...hey, I don't even know for sure if I can leave on the 27th. Would be nice though. If not I'll see you all on the 8th!
Sorry to bust your bubbles, but you don't get your DIs until receiving process is done. Dental, Medical and the shots, other paper work done. Receiving Barracks DIs take care of this and when done, and all recruits bussed in and numbers build in size. Eight Platoons make a Battalion, Four Platoons make a Company, so that is alot of recruits to process in. So the recruit on Dec 27 will be waiting for the rest to get there, for his platoon to form. There is almost always 55 or more recruits per platoon. Add the numbers up and the sooner you get there the longer you will wait to start to train. I would wait to go with the bolk of the recruits going and learn as a big group.

What my recruiter is telling me is that the ppl that ship Dec. 25th will spend about a week in processing (they'll be the first to arrive) and the recruits shipping Dec. 27th will spend about 4 days (they will be the late comers). First training day being Jan. 1st. (What a way to ring in the new year!)
Recruits shipping Jan. 8th are expected to spend a full week in processing (also the first to arrive) and start training the following Monday.
Either or...I'm ready to get it done!

PI on the 8th, along with a close friend of mine....coming out of the hackensack, NJ office
My ship date of 20070108 just got changed to 20070116 so im going the following week....Just more time to get in better shape before I go..

happy new years guys.. im excited and scared at the same time.. i just want to close my eyes and wake up being yelled at by my future "guidance counselor" i am more scared than anything, but im also quite excited to get this all over with.

So boys and girls 2 1/2 days left you guys ready yet cause I know I can't wait to get PI.....Time to get this over with....
