Please Do it today - the funds must be received no later than 15 December to allow time for travel arrangements.

The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) is providing travel funds for USMC Wounded Warriors stationed at USMC Base, Camp Lejeune, NC and MCAS Cherry Point for transportation to and from their homes of record for the leave period December 20 to January 2. In some cases family members are being re-imbursed at the rate of $0.30 per mile (round trip) to drive to Camp Lejeune, take their wounded warrior home for the holidays.

All contributions to The Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc., was qualified with the Internal Revenue Service as an organization exempt from income tax under I.R.C. Section 501 (c)(4) on February 26, 1959. Credit Cards are not accepted at this time. However, this program is only 3 days old today.

The program was started with 40 Wounded Marines needing assistance to get home for the holidays. More are arriving everyday. As of this writing, there are 53 and counting. It is going to talke a lot of money to cover the costs of that many.

I am trying to arrange for PayPal contributions in the future. However, it is doubtful that I can get it done before the holidays. But, I am afraid that the wounded will continue to arrive for the forseeable future.

More than $44,000 has been raised to date. I am sure that more is enroute in the mail. The funds will help all of the Wounded Warriors at Camp Lejuene and those at MCAS Cherry Point.
