Effective use of this technique allows those with little real power to control those who collectively have a lot of power (or would have much more power, were they able to unite).
I do not believe any body disagrees that America is in the Middle East for its own interests, allegedly for our own security or controlling oil, or both.
In the mean time everybody now is so up tight that we have to beat them into submission, so that they can enjoy Democracy rather than oppressive dictatorships or secular governments.
Acknowledgeably, though quite unintended, with the help of Al Qaeda they are playing right into what otherwise be an astute opponents hands, fighting among themselves. Are we failing to understand the advantageous position that has arose; cannot we see the forest because the trees are in the way ? "Divide and Conquer"!
Let them spend their-selves on each other, while we protect the borders and oil wells and when a winner is becoming evident get into bed with him, something we're good at $$$.
Nah, that would be too easy, stay the course. Only a Gay Greek named "Alexander the Great" would think something like "Divide & Conquer" would work today.
Could you imagine, if we could of got the Germans fighting among themselves in WW II like we have the Iraqi's doing today ? ROFLMFAO
