I cant decide which MOS I want when Im able to enlist. Can any Marines that have experience in those field give me some insight? It's really giving me a hard time trying to decide which one I want.... A balls-to-the wall ground-pounder, or a crewman of a 70 Ton killing machine...
Any help appreciated,
Matt

Well as you have said you have not decide to go into either mos. All I can say is if you want to carry the gun or drive it. I don't thing they have AC in the tank and that means that the heat would be the biggest enmey as for on the ground you carry your load on your back. Both are hard and you need to decide for your self. They are both good MOS.

You are a much smaller target walking than you are riding in that big metal box.

Also, about Infantry, will I be able to choose my MOS if i score well on the ASVAB? Or will it be something I wont be able to pick?

The Marine Corps will tell you what your MOS is. You do get to request an MOS, and if there is a need for that MOS you have a decent chance of getting it.

No way will they ever get me into the big target. I have seen what what happens inside a tank after it is hit by a 75mm recoyless rifle

Bah! I think some of the responses you got about being vulnerable in a tank are somewhat....ummm....kinda...outdated?
Back in the Cold War days being in a tank was like having a homing beacon for missiles, bombs, etc.
These days where are you going to end up? Iraq perhaps? When you had soldiers and Marines a few years ago (maybe still?) taking scrap metal to "armor" their Hummers in Iraq......that gives me a clue as to where I would go. :P
But then again my survival instinct has always been strong. :)
