Military Channel seeks videos and more from war zone
By Karen Jowers

“My War Diary” wants your videos from the front lines, your blogs, your letters.

The show, which premiered Nov. 10 on the Military Channel, is now expanding to include videos from troops in Afghanistan, said Larry Goldman, spokesman for LMNO Productions.

Goldman said the show, which airs at 9 p.m. Fridays, has received a “tremendous amount of viewers.”

The show’s producers are also appealing to family members back home who may have videos sent to them by their deployed husbands, wives, sons, daughters, girlfriends, brothers, etc. The show goes beyond airing the videos, which are first cleared by military officials. It also interviews the troops who made the videos, whether during a firefight, a bomb explosion, or in the case of Army National Guard Staff Sgts. Josh Dobbs and Matt Wright of Muncie, Ind., making a rap song spoof about Ramadi.

The show aims to portray through the troops themselves what life is like in the war zones, Goldman said.

“We need more videos,” Goldman said. “Please submit what you have.”
