I have a question on what is a correct pullup. I do pullups with my palms towards me, like the chin up. I start with my knees bent and holding straight on to the bar, arms competly straight. I proceed to go up till my chin is above the bar and then down, do I have to go all the way down so my arms are straight again? I'm just wondering what the correct way/form is.

Yes, you need to allow your arms to lock out at the bottom. That is one thing that the PFT monitors are supposed to be looking for.

does it matter if your palms are facing you or not?

Nope, as long as they both are facing the same way.

You're also not allowed to 'kip' or swing with your torso or legs in an effort to eek out a couple more at the end.

During a PFT you'll have a monitor standing there making sure (with an outstreched arm) you do not kip. The monitor will count your reps and like Echo4 said above, if you do not lock out your arms after each rep, that pullup will not count. You do not want to mess up even one rep because that's 5 points and a whole lot of energy you're losing there.
