To paraphrase Gen. Conway...the Commandant recently said he needs less/ shorter deployments, or more Marines. Please sound off with your thoughts.
My thoughts briefly, are this. The Marine Corps is a strike force, not an occupation force. Our job is to close with the enemy, and kill him. Period.
If our Commander-in-Chief needs the Corps to do this mission, then let it be done. If all he needs of the Marines is a "presence of uniformed military," then let the Army do that, and send America's best FIGHTING force home.
It's times like this when I remember the advice my dad gave me, when I joined the Corps. "There's only one thing the Marine Corps does really well. And they do it better than anyone in the world. And that is that they kill people."
