0600 is made up of the communications people. I held the MOSs of 0621 and 0622. Pretty good stuff. Depending on what MOS you end up with, you could be anywhere from an infantry line company to the air wing. There are a ton of different jobs within the 0600 field, so its hard to tell you too much about any one thing.

It depends entirely on where you end up being assigned. If you are a field radio operator with an infantry unit, then chances are that you will. If you are a swithboard operator assigned to the air wing, you may not. The only way to ensure you're in a position to get shot at is to be an infantry Marine. Other than that, you do what you do.
I can tell you that the first woman killed in Afghanistan was a good friend from my unit. People from my unit have been involved deeply in Afghanistan and Iraq. That said, I also served with people that have been reenlisting and haven't ended up in either place yet.

It really doesnt matter if i get put into a infantry unit, that way i can see some action and fight. thats one of the reasons i signed up for. But i have one other question, on the outside world how can i used the skills that i learn from this MOS to get a job?

Once again, it depends on the job you happen to have. There are some uses for some of the jobs, such as switchboard operator that are pretty apparent. Other jobs, such as satellite or microwave radio have several uses. (I have a few friends that work for ESPN helping with their communications during college football games.) Other jobs, such as field radio don't really have a civilian counterpart. But, that is true with many of the jobs people have in the Marine Corps. There will still be plenty of doors opened to you simply because you are a Marine.
