View Full Version : Pics from the stadium gig
Got lots more, and a story, but it will have to wait. Just wanna show you guys.
These two guys were "honorary" refs during the game and were honored before our swear-in ceremony during half time. Let me tell you guys, having 60,000 people go crazy and start chanting USA during your swearing in is FREAKING INTENSE. We loved every second of it.
FOR THE RECORD, (so much for being in a hurry and making this brief) the ARMY is DISGUSTING. Not ONE Army soldier saluted the flag during the national anthem, except for TWO officers (a Capt. and a Major) Not one, their poolees didn't stand at attention, and not a single soldier (enlisted) saluted that flag as the national anthem was sung. Our SSgt's were ****ting bricks at that. They wanted to start a fight about it. I mean, seriously. WTF? Not to mention they were making us look bad when we marched to do our swear in. In front of 60,000 people they showed how badly they marched and the lack of discipline they have. It was pathetic. Even the NATIONAL GUARD marched better than they did. We had our shirts tucked in, boots, belt, etc. They had swearshirts on, etc.
Lance Cpl Anthony USMC and PFC Jones USA, both wounded in action in Iraq. Both awarded the purple hearts and bronze stars.

That is awesome. I can't believe you got to do that. That sucks about how the Army group was acting, but you can't control how other people act. At least you guys represented USMC good. It is pretty embarassing though when people are making themselves look bad. I hope people realized that it wasn't all the poolees acting that way. I'm sure people got the big picture. So are you the one in the group pic with the 2 cheerleaders with your thumb...lol. Good pics

That's amazing. Too bad every poolee can't have this experience.

Outfreakingstanding Matt, whoah what happened to your hair? How does it feel to represent something so much bigger than yourself? Awesome isnt it?
Jim
That's awesome, I wish my RS did something awesome like this!
Now for the question everyone wants to know: Did any of you guys make a move on any of the cheerleaders?

That's Awesome. Congratulation's on the swear in ceremony at the game. That must have been a blast! I only wish I had an opportunity to do this! You did good and represented the Marine Corps well, cant say much for the army poolees though. In the last picture the army poolees look very unorganized while yall are in single file and with moto haircuts. I have that same poolee shirt but I have seen other recruiting stations have different ones..Does everyone have that same shirt now or what?

I have one, but after 6 months of being a Poolee, it's not red anymore.

I've never seen so many sh*t eating grins in my entire life. LOL
Fantastic photographs, Achped. You all looked mighty squared away and ready to take on Boot Camp.
Thank you for sharing.

Thats some awesome pics, wish i could have sworn in that way, but its cool it was still the best day of my life. Good job representing the USMC!
Thanks Gary, the Marine poolees were definitely (again, not trying to be biased at all) the most organized, squared away, of them all. We had never met before, but we all knew how to right face, how to march in step, (as best as nasty poolees can anyway) the Army just looked like a bunch of school kids walking to class. Mad props to the Navy and Airforce though, they were almost at our level ;) My recruiter, Sgt. V (heres his pic) was talking to us on the way home. He's like "You guys have never heard me say the Army is nasty or anything like that. I understand they're our brothers, and it would be rude of me to be talking down to soldiers in front of Marine maggot poolees. But you saw it yourself today. They have no discipline, no respect, I mean, a couple of them didn't even f**king stand up during the national anthem. What the ffuddggeee?"

John, that girl put her hand on my shoulder as I kneeled in front of her and I thought I'd never wash that shirt ever again. Some of the Army guys kept trying to hug them but they seriously scared them away. The SSgt in the picture of us in a line was, as were the rest of the Marine NCO's, just talking to poolees when the cheerleaders came up to THEM to get a picture with them. I guess the whole "Look I'm in my BDUs ready to fight...in a football stadium" appearance isnt too attractive.

It is awesome Staff Sergeant. While we were in line waiting to walk into the stadium (that last picture) people kept coming up to us and being like "OORAH" and "Semper fi boys!!", not to mention the *hundreds* of old ladies who were just like "Thank you!!!" as they clapped and walked away. It gave me goose bumps, it gave all of us goose bumps. I didn't see anyone really say anything to the other branches, except for a few die-hard Navy veterans...we were looking too. The Marines just have something about them...and the public definitely notices it.
We four all gave ourselves "high and tights" (the kid on the top left, Paul, of the cheerleading pic actually had a "nasty civilian" hair cut up until Saturday) We all have 6 months before we ship so we have plenty of time to grow it out again.
Jake, last night I was with Becky and I like sat up and was like "DUDE! THAT PICTURE OF ME AND MAX ON LEATHERNECK IS ACTUALLY JAKE". I was just too tired to go and change it. It was weird how I just thought of that out of the blue.
Jake and I...we're pretty close ;) Haha, not.

They actually touched my back in this picture...

Oh, I realize I left this out. Although it goes without saying, every Marine was saluting the flag during the national anthem and all the poolees were at the position of attention.
I watched the game on Satellite, and you guys did us proud!!! Awesome pics, Matt. (And not wash the shirt? The question is, what about the shorts?? LMAO!!!!) Again, congrats, and great job of representing the Corps newest recruits.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just found it! Echo Co. 2nd RTBn.
YOU LUCKY BASTARD.
I know it doesn't really matter, I mean, the companies, but my friend was in E co. 2nd BN. Besides, E companies are always the best!
Oh well, guess I'll have to make sure G company is better!
Paul is registered on here now too.
