All-Marine soccer trial camp picks

Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point’s soccer team claimed the Marine Corps East Coast Regional Men’s Soccer Championship title on Saturday.
Cherry Point edged out 2nd Marine Division with an 8-7 lead.
Meanwhile, 24 East Coast leathernecks from eight competing teams were selected to try out for the All-Marine Soccer Team. Those picked for tryouts will attend soccer trial camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego Jan. 3-15.
The ranks of the Marines selected to attend the camp were not provided, but the following Marines were selected:
• Second Marine Division — Karl Schlegel, Chris Piekos, Gabriel Valladares, Eric Campos, Baldemar Pardo, Edmin Aguilera, Luis Guzman and David Schmidt.
• MCAS Cherry Point — Timothy Blodgett, Timothy Bogna and Nathan Jennes.
• Quantico — Bamidele Abogunrin, Kenneth Bansah, Joel Barrera, Luis Vasquez-Estrada, Souhaib Elkoun and Derrick Walling.
• MCAS Beaufort — Salomon Adelowow, Oscar Mendoza and Jeshua Laurin.
• Henderson Hall — Moises Navas.
• Second Marine Logistics Group — Alan Quintanilla.
• MCAS New River — Frank Oguno and Christian Dillard.
Of Marines selected for the camp, 18 will make the team.
