Okay, so today I received a call from a different recruiters office that is about 30 miles away and they said I am now a poolee out of their office and no longer at my current office and they said my recruiter who I have dealt with all along is no longer my recruiter and I have a new recruiter at this office that is 30 miles away. This makes no sense to me and I have no idea what's going on. My recruiter didn't get removed from recruiting duty or anything and the office right near my house didn't shut down, so this doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't care about having to drive the extra 30 miles to the new office and whatnot, but i'm kind of disappointed that i'm no longer dealing with my original recruiter, he was an awesome guy, great Marine, we had a good relationship, i've given him probably 50+ contacts, and I always helped him out whenever he needed it and he worked his ass off for me for several months to get me in DEP and get me the contract and ship date that I wanted so it's kind of sad that I have nothing to do with him anymore, but I guess it really doesn't matter because once I ship i'll never meet my new recruiter again anyways and it's my Drill Instructors who I will always remember, not my recruiter.

They didn't give me any explanation as to why this happened, they just told me this is what's going on and that's it. I haven't even met my "new" recruiter yet, but we have a pool function this weekend that i'm going to so hopefully i'll meet him then.

My ship date and everything is still the same, but this whole thing is just... odd.

That is odd. Maybe they just wanted you to spread the wealth of another 50 refferals to another recruiting office. heh.

You try contacting your old recruiter to see what's going on?

Ya have you tried calling your "old" recruiter. That is pretty wierd. I like text and stuff with mine and talk to him on the phone for a couple minutes most days so I probably talk to my recruiter more than the average poolee, but still...that's wierd. I'm curious about this now...keep us posted

From what i've been able to gather, the original office where I enlisted was an RS of the main RSS 30 miles away, and on November 1st my original RS where I enlisted at became it's own RSS district, except I still technically fall under the other RSS district that is 30 miles away and not the new RSS district that my original office became and my recruiter stayed at the current original office, but was now in a different district that me or something.

This is pretty confusing, hopefully i'll be able to get a better explanation this Saturday at the pool function. The most important thing though is that everything else with me like my ship date, contract, etc. all stays the same and isn't effected by any of this, so that's good.

Alright that was pretty confusing to read, but I think I know what your saying. Like at the mini bootcamp I went to...RS Concord came with our Manchester group, but technically when addressing themselves they had to say "Poolee ____ RSS Manchester" because I guess technically Manchester is the RSS for them. So would this be like Concord becoming it's own RSS, but the poolees having to go to RSS Manchester because thats what District there under. Haha sorry I'm confused and I want to figure this out.

Accord, that kind of stuff happens all the time in the Marine Corps, it happened to me like 3 times while i was in the DEP you just gotta adapt and overcome, your new recruiter will still get you to the same place as your old one was going to. good luck.

Hey Accord...I thought I'd throw this in just for laughs. My recruiters were SSgt Soto;then SSgt Luna (over 20yrs ago), and yes I still remember my Drill Instructors.

Ahh, same thing happened to me too except It wasnt as far away. I origionally went to an RSS that was 5 minute from my house and first met my recruiter. However I went on vacation and when I came back they told me to go to a different office about 10 minutes away (with NYC traffic). Appearently the RSS I origionally went to was a sub branch for the RSS I'm going to now. My recruiter got transfered there, so therefore I follow him there. The only reason I perfer the one close to my house is because that one has a free parking lot and the one i'm going to now has absolutely no parking spaces around. Oh and for the poolee functions, my old RSS comes over to my new one to have a joint poolee meeting.

The reason the RSS are so close together is because I'm guessing its NYC? Theres just so many people around the theres like 3 RSS all within 10 minute distance from my house.
