November 1, 2006 -- THE Marines may like to look at Jenna Jameson - but only in private. The porn star's boyfriend, ultimate fighter Tito Ortiz, was scheduled to give a speech as a guest of honor in front of 800 men in uniform at a "birthday" ball at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego on Nov. 12. But the pugilist was disinvited after the Marine brass found out he was going to bring Jameson as his date. Ortiz received an e-mail from Maj. Jason Johnston stating, "There is some serious consternation here about having your girlfriend attend our ball. Of course I, and a lot of Marines, are very excited about it, [but] many of our commanders feel it might be inappropriate for the type of event we are having . . . it is professionally embarrassing for me to have to possibly retract our invitation, especially when I am such a big fan." Ortiz and Jameson are making other plans.

Apparently, though, the bloom of love between the two is not appreciated everywhere. For example, at Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar, Calif. According to Marine Corps Times, Ortiz was to host a sold-out ball there when the Marines discovered to their horror that he intended to bring his girlfriend to the dance. Operation Stop Jenna came quickly. Major Jason Johnston, a spokesman at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar told Marine Corps Times:
"We invited him, and he accepted. Then, it became aware to us that his guest was going to be his girlfriend. Then, we had to make a decision, and the decision made was that she was not an individual or guest that we really felt was appropriate for the Marine Corps ball."
But chivalry isn't dead. Ortiz has refused to go without his porn star love. Oh well, they will always have Vegas.
How much influence and power the "wives" of top brass wield within the military. As probably was the case here at USMC Base, Miramar.;)

I've heard talk about those airedales, but I thought it was just nasty rumors spread by sailors. I know several thousand Jarheads that are deployed that would welcome Jenna with open arms (preferably with no boyfriend attached).

I imagine had they just gotten word to Jenna to keep it clean, be respectful, and have fun, she would have. She is one of the few porn stars who has been able to cash in and go maintream. She was on O'Reilly for christ sake.

To be honest, I had never heard of her until a Marine in Iraq mentioned that a calender(post card, picture, coctail napkin) with her picture would be greatly appreciated. The picture posted here is the first time I've ever seen her. But, as to Marines having better taste than that-I've been on liberty with Marines and as a Marine and I can testify that they DO NOT HAVE BETTER TASTE THAN THAT! They have no taste whatsoever, depending on the blood alcohol content, being female is all that's requested and, in some cases,being human is merely an option.

Hopefully, Ortiz is not a former Marine (does anyone know?). That would be an absolute disgrace to the Corps to bar him from a ball because of his obvious good taste in women and extremely good luck! I remember a Marine buddy of mine bringing two known hookers to a ball way back in the day. Not a thing was said, and they were perfect ladies the entire evening. Or were they just ladies of the evening...I really don't remember. Anyway, rock on Marines!

They did not bar him from coming at all. They asked him to NOT bring his g/f and he declined the offer, thus the offer was rescinded.
I happen to agree with both the Marine Corps decision and Mr. Ortiz' decision. Ms. Jameson would have detracted from the solemnity, and tradition of the Marine Corps Ball and it would have been in bad taste to have her as an honored guest. Mr. Ortiz did the honorable thing and chose his fiancee' over the appearance at the ball.
If Mr. Ortiz were in fact a former Marine, he could choose to attend another ball as a regular guest and his g/f would then be quite welcome as his guest because whe would not be an HONORED guest.
If Mr. Ortiz was not a former Marine, I would wonder why he was invited to speak. I am sure there are stars and other successful professionals out there who are in fact former Marines that could have been chosen for this honor...

I tend to agree with camper and yldndn about this topic... I'm not too excited about the political correctness that was displayed by the brass here, but in today's climate, I can certainly understand the issue that they faced. If she were a guest as in any other guest, who cares? But to be an honored guest at the ball, given her occupational issues, just doesn't feel right to me either.
Mr. Ortiz did the right thing in retracting his RSVP, an issue I am sure he will have to deal with on many occassions in the future, considering the occupational character of his girlfriend.
JJ as a guest... Fine! As an HONORED Guest!! No F___ing way!!!

Jeeezlooweeez. "Not proper to the decorum of the ball..." boy, is that a load of manure. The only MC Ball I went to that had decorum was boring as all get out, and the wife and I left soonthereafter; it was populated with officers who were a bunch of, well....I'll let it go at that.
I've got photos in my scrapbooks of plenty of MC balls where the 'decorum' would have been IMPROVED by the addition of Ms. Jameson..lol...
Not only that, but VMFA-312, in November of 85, had our MC Ball in a bar in downtown Olongopo. Everything....and I do mean EVERYthing...was bought and paid for for the night...
Yes, let your imaginations run wild....and god forbid anything like that happen today...

This ball that they are speaking of is the one that I will be attending in 6 days. We were all so pumped that "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz himself was going to be there. Our CO got him to come for the younger Marines. Pretty cool if you ask me. We would have been the envy of the Marine Corps. Tito is not a former Marine, but after watching many of his UFC fights you can tell that he definately has that warrior spirit that we all talk about. Something tells me that he would have no problem fitting in with a group of Marines.
The fact that HQMC came down and said that he could not bring Jenna is kinda silly. Yes, she is a porno star. (former) Yes, she is amazingly hot. But I am sure that she is also a pretty nice person. It is not like she and Tito were going to attend our ball and make a movie in the ball room. They are both professionals in their own ways and I am sure that they know how to conduct themselves as such. I can understand in a way why they told him not to bring her....but I don't agree with it. I respect Tito for standing by his lady and respectfully declining our invite.
