What is a day in the life of an Artillery Cannoneer? That is the top MOS choice that I want, and I just want to get some insight and information on what it's like in the 0800's.
Thanks to Anyone Who Helps,
Matt

Grab yer earplugs...
I was a field wireman stationed with artillery in 29 Palms....alot of night manuvers. And like camper51 said "Grab yer earplugs"!!! The only thing I didn't like was, you never got to see your destuction....impact zone may be 15-20 miles away.

As well stated by all...much B O O M B O O M. I enjoy damaged hearing to this day--along with a "service connected disability" becasue of it. But would not trade a moment of the memories.

Get to the gym and start lifting weights! When you party with Arty, you hump rounds. The 155 >He<(High Explosive) shells are about 100 lbs.. Common Sense & Ear plugs required. Math skills a plus.
I miss it.

Safety is also a big issue. I had a Marine on my gunline lose his grip on the loading tray and the projo dropped on his foot, breaking it (the foot).
Of the 100 lbs., about a quarter of it is explosive material.
You've got a couple more years to go, have fun; be yourself, be a teenager.
If this is really something you want, it will be there for you when you graduate and are ready to move forward.
