...age 82, of Lake Zurich, born September 12, 1919 in Chicago, IL, He went home to the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2002 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Seattle WA. father of Thomas and Joan M. (Robert) Bell, survived by many family and friends who shall miss him. A good honorable man who fought for 20 days Iwo Jima before sustaining serious injuries. A double Purple Heart recipient and real hero. Humble, unselfish, long suffering man who dedicated himself to helping others. To know him was to love him. Tom held Local, State and National positions with the D.A.V. and was a member of the Lake Zurich Lions Club. Visitation at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich, 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Thursday, July 11, 9:30 a.m. to St. Francis de Sales Church, 11 S.
