Question about the buddy program

One of my friends joined under me. He does not prepare for boot camp at all, and we are on the buddy program. Will I be punished for his most likely failures in boot camp? Will I have to quarterdeck with him when he screws up?

Dont worry about having to pay for your buddy's mistakes, you will most likely have to pay for the mistakes of many others in your platoon. I doubt that you will be singled out just for him. Your profile indicates that you ship next week if thats a fact good luck to you. I hope to see you back here in January as a Marine.

Yes sir, thank you first of all for the good luck. Secondly, I'm not really worried about paying for his mistakes, rather I'm just wondering per what my recruiter has told me. Thank you very much and I graduate on January the 12th!! I can't wait to be called a Marine (if I get through!)
