L.I. MARINE KILLED BY IRAQ BLAST

October 13, 2006 -- A newlywed Marine from Long Island was killed while serving his second tour of duty in Iraq.
Sgt. Julian Arechaga, 23, of Oceanside, died instantly when the Humvee in which he was riding with two other Marines was rocked Monday by an improvised explosive device in Ramadi.
"Our hearts are broken," said Arechaga's brother-in-law, Russ Randazzo, at the Baldwin home he shares with the tragic Marine's sister, Sheyla. "He made us very proud."
Arechaga, whose wife, Felecia, also is a Marine, had begun his second Iraq tour - voluntarily - two months ago. It was his third with the military since enlisting in 2002. That year, fueled by rage over 9/11, he did an eight-month stint in Afghanistan.
