Injured Marines Bond in Fishing Trip

CAROLINA BEACH -- Wounded marines stationed at Camp Lejeune took a break from the barracks and tried a hand at a new hobby.
The group of about 30 injured marines from the Iraq and Afghanistan gathered outside Carolina Beach to find a new common bond in fishing.
Some of the marines had been in recovery for almost six months, while others had just returned to the U.S. within the past few weeks.
The marines said that the day out at sea brought them together and helped them forget about the injuries they suffered at war.
The event was sponsored by Cape Fear Blue Water Fishing Group, who said they hoped to do it again in the near future.
