Hello,

I was just wondering in Boot Camp and anywhere in the Marine Corps when you go hiking, how much does the packs you carry on your back weigh?...I'm a volunteer firefighter and the tanks we carry on our back is about 35 - 45 pounds...and since im looking into joining the Marine Corps I was just curious as to how much the pack weighed...all replys are greatly appriciated.

-Thanks!

He said "hiking"!!

I don't know what they weighed in boot camp, I would guess 45-50 pounds. In the fleet it depends what you bring with you. You'll have to bring some things, and you may decide to bring something else that isn't on the gear list... especially if you aren't just going on a hump but are staying in the field. But honestly if you don't have a problem with your pack as a firefighter you won't have a problem with the Marine Corps pack either.

Boot Camp is the easy Hump...get in the fleet and do a "Combat Load" of 80 pounds. That SUCKS!
