Marine charged in assaults on girls

A 21-year-old Marine Corp corporal has been charged with sexually assaulting two 14-year-old Boyertown-area girls while home on leave in May, state police said Friday.
Adam M. Stinley, who is based at Camp Lejeune, N.C., turned himself in to authorities Thursday after Marines brought him back to Berks County, troopers said.
Stinley, formerly of Washington Township, was charged with two counts each of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent exposure, corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors.
He was arraigned before Senior District Judge John W. Miller in Reading Central Court. Miller released him on the condition that he immediately return to Camp Lejeune, where military authorities have confined him to the base.
Troopers gave this account:
On May 28, Stinley gave the girls several alcoholic drinks in his former residence on Forgedale Road. Stinley knew the girls, who are friends.
Stinley engaged in a sex act with one girl while the other watched.
Stinley also smoked marijuana with the girls and others at another location. Troopers did not say where, or who provided the marijuana.
