Hi All,After being AWOL for a few months I decided to get my feet back on the deck.
Last week end 9/10th of September was the Reunion of the Royal Marines Association 'the gathering of the old and bold' its a yearly event held at the Commando Training Centre.I just thought you may like to see a few photographs of the reunion.

Outstanding! That look in the eyes from you and 'Oppo' says you still got plenty of 'Dig out' left in you! :)

Seeing that this web page is from 41 Royal Marine Corps.
I wonder if you have seen this web page before?
It shows our service together in that distant land.
As we are now serving in another distant land.
May we always serve as brother in arms.

Terrific photographs, 3BadgeMarine. I'll echo Yellowwing's sentiment- you both look like you still have a lot of starch left in your lapels. Good work. The best to you.

I was wondering where you had got to old soldier, (Jim), and I found you in here. I have not been on this site for a long time, but will drop in more regularly.

No Tanganyika stories, or horse stories out of school now Jim. Would not want our cousins to get the wrong impression of us. ;)

Just don't believe 3BadgeMarine if he talks about Tanganyika silver or horse steaks served in the sergeants mess in Aden.

Ask our dear friend who now grows roses Jim. I was only into nice new woolen blankets which I sold to the married fads.

I don't wish to hijack the thread, but we had a short discussion about 41 Independant Commando on the Once a Marine site. I was fortunate enough to be trained on heavy weapons by two sergeants from that unit, Cyril Blackman and Fred Hayhurst, (author of green berets in Korea). I believe that Fred is the Vice President of the Chosin Association. Both Fred and Cyril are still going strong.
