I am a former Marine who served with Ilario pantano in 1st bn 6th Marines Scout/Sniper platoon. I hold him in the highest regard. As a leader, he is unparalled. His professionalism is uncompromising, and his morals are unswerving. I would gladly ruck up and follow him again.

I read his book. He seems like a decent and Marine dedicated to not only to his mission but his men. The whole travesty of his ordeal was that it took him away from his fellow Marines. Getting beat up by your enemy is one thing. Getting beat up by your your own is another. He survived but it cost him and his family big time. He survived. Bless him.
