Well today i got up at around 4:45 and went to MEPS for my full phsical. Everything turned out well and I am now a delayed entry recuit. I leave in July next year. I have to confirm the date tomarrow. I was also excited that i got a 53 on the asvab. Im so glad that this part is all done. Thanks from everyone here that answered some of my questions and helped me.
Thanks,
Michael Stephen Gwyn
Awesome! The hard part is all done.
I know you may be like "Whatt???" But now its all up to you. You're perfectly able to do everything Basic asks of you, you just have to have the heart.
And PS, you're the first person I've met with a leave date later than mine haha.

Oh i have the heart i have been wanting this since 9th grade. I was so nervous today, I cant imagine how I will be on shipping day. When I got done doing my Pull-ups and crunches(i did 6 pull-ups and 58 crunches) I felt like I was going to puke because I was so nervous. I cant wait for the pool functions.

Took me almost 2 years to get accepted. Even to just get sent to MEPS in that case. I got sent to a METS station in FL just to take the ASVABS over 2 years ago now. I just got accepted a few months ago FINALLY. Feels good to be in DEP after such trials and tibulations. Congratulations.

Whats your body type, do you need to gain or lose weight? Or stay where you're at?
That sounds about what I got my first time doing the IST (Mine was 7 pullups, 37 situps, and 15:45 in the 1.5 mile)
In only one month I'm at 7 pull ups (But Im doing the armstrong pullup program and getting alot better, the 7 I did when I started were with the palms facing me, I couldn't do ONE overhand pull up, now I can do 7.) I also have 156 situps (yes, 156 in two minutes, just put your mind to it dude, you can do it) and 11:28 in the 1.5 mile.

I'm a pretty skinny dude, I weighed in at about 138. I definitely need to gain weight. 2 years?!?! I went and talk to my recruiter about a month or 2 ago.
Just like me dude.
Just start running, doing pull ups and push ups, and EAT EAT EAT, you probably eat a crapload, but eat 3 craploads. I've put 15 lbs on in 2 months, and my body fat % went down!

Yeah, haha, I have a pretty in depth medical background to say the least. I had cancer when I was younger and also had a minor heart issue that needed to get cleared. But when I finally got to MEPS, the Dr. was so cool about stuff, he barely even gave me a physical since my file was so in depth and there was so amny issues with me. Persistence definately proves its worth when all else seems lost. And that goes for anything in life.
As for my physical standards, welp, I need to get on the PTing. Tough with 24 credits this semester and a full time job, but I manage to get in as much as possible. Soon the job will be much less to make room for my PTing. Within the next few weeks.
Hey Achped, whats the armstrong pullup routine? Thanks.

Also the funny thing was that there were only 4 Marine recruits and about 20 army/other recruits. Sorry but I would rather get chewed out and take the hardway.

Haha, I remember being at MEPs and being the first ones done since there were so few of us (Marine Recruits). Just like MichaelG said, too funny.
BTW, thanks for the heads up on the pullup program, ill check it out.

you'll learn that the easy part is through... the hard part doesn't start till you head "off the block" to whichever depot
