I've seen this site before as well as other's. And it is truly amazing. Yet I know a person from the VVA and by all accounts it's been purported that Naval personnel aboard ship were exposed more to the different "Chemical Agent's" used during VN, than a ground pounder, or other's. I think they're getting this info about ships that were carrying it. I know of one vet who unloaded the stuff with a forklift and is one sick person, has been for many years, but, since he didn't serve in Country? He can't file a claim, for all the listed "effects" and "recognizable" illness's. He's had lymphnoma cancer, has M.S., and now may be dying because of a real rare skin cancer. What a "dirty" trick our Gov't played upon it's on. Not withstanding, the nuc test's vet's had to endure. SF

My name is John R. Presho, from Port Orchard, Wa. I was stationed at Camp Books, at the F.L.C. compound just north of Da Nang, RVN! I'm suffering from a rare blood disease called E.T. Essential Thrombocythemia (it's from the same stem cell as Leukemia), and I've had many tumors inside my body the last one was removed off my spinal cord two week's ago, and this has been my second spinal cord tumor operation in the past 10 months. My Dr. believe's that my blood disease was caused by exposure to agent orange while being assigned as a rifleman at the First Provisional Rifle Company, at F.L.C.. I was in the 3 Charlie Squad at F.L.C. it was mainly a night ambush squad, but we also occassionally went out on day patrols. I was told by the V.A. that the Da Nang area was the second most heavily sprayed area until to April 1970. I served at F.L.C. from Jan. 70 til Feb. 71. My mos was 3051 supply, then 0311,when I replaced a Marine named "Cowboy" who accidentally shot himself, I was his replacement. I visited him at a hospital in Da Nang. Does anyone remember seeing Agent Orange stored in the FLC Storage Compuond? Or do you remember me are anyone in 3 Charlie. I would also like to talk to any MP's that served at these times. There was also incoming rocket attack's does anyone remember these attack's and the date's. Would like to hear from anyone who served at FLC Jan.70 -Feb.71. thank's John

Has the VA-Gov't Recognized your illness as one of the one's on their "list" of acceptable/caused by/ for Agent Orange Exposure? I hope so. You can get on the Web, use a google or ask.com search, and you can type in Agent Orange Area's sprayed, yrs, gals, etc. If this would be any help. I must also say this.....It doesn't matter if there were any barrel's of this crap around. It was in the ground, the air, the water, once it was sprayed? it stayed there. Are you trying to get supportive evidence to prove to the VA that you were exposed? Yes Danang was in "I" Corps, the second heaviest A/O sprayed area of S. Vietnam. You may also want to write a PM to Ellie/Moderator, as she knows a lot about the area's sprayed and her late husband passed away from A/O Illness.
Do you have a Veteran Organization that is helping you? If not....Don't try and file a claim with the VA, or think they'll file one for you, as they won't.
You need good representation from those who can help you. The PVA/DAV/VFW/VVA/AM-VET'S/AMERICAN LEGION/ THE BEST I'VE FOUND TO USE IS THE PVA, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE THE PARALYZED VETERAN'S OF AMERICA, THEY REPRESENT EVERYBODY, TO HELP THEM FILE CLAIMS WITH THE VA. THEY'RE GREAT. I hope I've been some help to you. YOu can e-mail me at pbail5@earthlink.net if you want any more advice, or if I can help in any way. SF My Brother, God's Speed, RN13
