I believe I saw you. Were you the Lance Corporal in dress blues walking around with a video camera? If you took some pictures while all of the platoons were in a horseshoe and talking to the drill master, you might be able to see me as I was in the front row of the middle platoon.:usmc::bunny:

How was the Gas Chamber?

MKinney
09-02-06, 09:33 AM
It wasn't too bad. People kept asking if I was all snotty after coming out, but not really. I remember seeing a video of when my cousin did it in the Army and he was dripping snot everywhere. Maybe the CS isn't that concentrated?

When I went we stood outside the building waiting to get the masks for about 20 minutes in 90+ degrees so we were all sweaty (open pores). We then did the brief and they filed us off into the chamber. They'll make you do some jumping jacks and such to further open pores and you'll take off the mask for about 20 seconds. I tried to hold my breath but the CS does burn quite a bit and I ended up coughing and sucking a huge batch of CS down. It burned but they then let us don/clear and after that it was fine.

It may sound bad, but after you do it you'll be surprised cause you'll be saying, "That's it? Can we go again?".

No sweetie, it wasn't me - I ain't had on a pair of Blues in a loooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time. I DID stand up when they asked for Marines in the bleachers but I was down in front of the WMs and gave 'em a big WOOHOO!

All 609 of you looked AWESOME too! I felt pride for ALL of you - even teared up and NONE of you are even MY kids! You could tell ya'll had been drilled to death - if anybody got off step, you couldn't see it - when you guys did the Pass & Review ALL of you guys were dead on step cause when you got right in front (where you're looking through the ranks dead on) - not even a trouser leg was out of place. When ya'll did your facing movements and brought that heel back up to meet the other - it was 1 sound. THAT was motivation!

Nope. You can though, but they'll have to be tailored and all that, unless you find some used ones. I'll probably only buy the trousers for now, and wait a while to get the jacket. My body will change more through MCT and MOS school, so it'd be smart to hold off on the 150 dollar jacket until you reach a stable size/weight.

It varies. If you have dependents you can earn more, if you speak a foreign language like german/russian/arabic/etc you can earn more, PFC = more. With me being a pvt and no dependents/language/etc I earn about 450 every 2 weeks. I was in EHP for about 2 weeks so I earned a bit more and I also missed a few PX calls so I didn't have to spend that money. Coming out of bootcamp I had around 2300. Some others in my platoon had 3500+ and some had around 1800.
