There used to be a Carmen's Restaurant along the San Francisco Embarcadero; an eatery frequented by all the stevedores and other sullied individuals (myself included) that worked or wandered around in that area, that used to serve a similar dish. Maybe it was called adobo but it sure looked like the photographs of taco rice. Man, Carmen put adobo sauce on everthing. The walls of this little eatery had a latex sheen but it wasn't paint that made the walls shine it was grease. I bet some of you Marines that worked in or around 100 Harrison Street, next to the Hills Brothers coffee processing warehouse, might recall it.

My Husband raves about the taco fried rice he use to get while in the Marines, I would like to get the recipe if anyone out there has it.
