Local Business Keeps Area Marines In Touch With Home

Dated: 08/23/2006 4:41:38 PM Updated: 08/23/2006 10:25:46 PM

A local business is helping keep local Marines connected to their families.

Liberty Tax Service donated 122 calling cards with more than 9000 minutes.

The cards will go to the 71 Marines of the Gettysburg Avenue Military Police unit stationed in Iraq.

The business takes old cell phones and recycles them into money for the minutes.

Rich Blackburn, the general manager of the Centerville office said it's just a small thank you. "This pales in comparison to the sacrifice that the troops, the marines have made. Just a small way to say we appreciate everything."

If you would like to help you can take your old cell phone or other donation to any Liberty Tax Service office.
