Lisa Brown had been assembling medical and dental records, notifying her children's schools and getting ready for the movers in anticipation of her family's relocation to Okinawa.
But those efforts were put on hold yesterday when the Lee's Hill resident learned the Marine Corps had issued a "stop-move" and "stop-loss" directive.
The directive, issued worldwide from Marine Corps headquarters late Tuesday, is effective immediately and affects Marines who had planned to leave the service and those whose relocation orders were to take effect after Feb. 15.
