Three High School Buddies Join Marines

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Three Columbia High School friends will face boot camp together.
Brad Rigdon, Ian Alvarado and Tyler Duran, all 18, are on their way to Parris Island, S.C. to begin their basic training.
Through the Marines Buddy Program the young men will be assigned to the same platoon during training. They will also be stationed in the same part of the country for their first four years of service.
They've known each other since their sophomore year at high school.
"We're gopnna be close to each other in boot camp. It will help make it a little easier I think," said Tyler Duran.
A couple of the young men have friends and relatives in the military.
