Sniper competition set at Benning
The U.S. Army Sniper School, based at Fort Benning, will sponsor the 6th annual International Sniper Competition Oct. 27 through Nov. 4.
Two-man sniper teams will compete in events that will include a sniper stalk, urban shooting and orienteering exercises, a stress fire and other tests of their marksmanship and sniper skills.
Ten of the teams expected to compete are Army snipers, including representatives from the 75th Ranger Regiment, the 5th and 7th Special Forces Groups and the Army National Guard Sniper School. The field is also expected to include teams representing the Air Force and Marines. Seven Canadian teams and teams from Great Britain, Ireland and Israel are also expected to compete.
