"Spies that Fly", a one-hour special produced by NOVA, the acclaimed PBS science series that is marking its 30th year on television
Background: The special will look at the history of unmanned aerial vehicles; present-day UAVs including the Predator and Pioneer; and developmental UAVs like Global Hawk, Pointer, the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab's Dragon Eye and mini-UAVs the size of a bumblebee. This is the first of five specials airing in 2003 to celebrate the centennial of the Wright Brothers' historic first manned flight on Dec 17, 1903.
