I just finished reading a post in the history threads and a statement in there reminded me of one of the worst butt whuppins i have ever encountered by a marine.
We were on a hill outside Kuwait City in 91' when the resupply came thru, I was up at company getting stuff for my guys when Sgt. D threw me a can and told me to put it by the gunny's rack I did not think nothing of it at the time about an hour later the gunny came around the positions holding this can asking where the f*** it came from. I told him that I had put it there and he proceeded with the whoopin. The can was full of apricots! After that I understood not to be messing with apricots in a combat zone, but I have never heard why. So if any one could enlighten this dumb jarhead on the history of apricots in a combat zone I would be forever in your debt.
