I was walking by a Marine today and noticed that he wasn't wearing an undershirt under his utilities. I asked him about it and he told me it was optional. When did that change? And, is it in the field or in garrison as well?:usmc:

that's a good question "Walking" I've seen Marines with no undershirt in their "chucks" but never the utilities...

I've heard of tis before. I'd wear it anyways. Keeps the chaffing down and just looks better. In the field we tucked our blouse into our trousers sometimes if we had a pistol. That really helped with quick access.
