Ganeden Biotech provides relief to Marines
July 28, 2006

Cleveland, Ohio -- Combat-deployed Marines rolling through the hot desert in Iraq and Afghanistan during the summer months should find it a bit less challenging, thanks to contributions from companies like Ganeden Biotech. The Mayfield Heights based consumer healthcare company recently donated more than 1,000 boxes of its popular Cleary Confident ® Antifungal Cream to the MarineParents.com, Inc. Care Package Project.

Clearly Confident’s Antifungal Cream’s clinically-tested, military-strength formulation helps kill fungus that can cause nail infections, a common problem for troops overseas. Tracy Della Vecchia, founder and president of MarineProjects.com, which ships hundreds of care packages every eight weeks to Marines stationed in combat zones, said products that treat fungus are widely requested.

“Many of our Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan develop athlete’s feet and are plagued by its symptoms of itching, burning feet,” said Della Vecchia. “Foot care is one of the most important health care issues in a combat zone and we know that they will be extremely grateful to have this product readily available to them.”

“As a company that is dedicated to improving quality of life, we’re more than pleased to support our troops overseas and provide them with a product that will help them feel better and ultimately function better,” said Andrew Lefkowitz, president and CEO of Ganeden Biotech.

MarineParents.com launched in 2003 as a central gathering place and reference for parents and friends of deployed Marines. The website provides information including the deployment process, base camp locations, sending care packages and mail and more.

Additionally, the website features content contributions from families of deployed Marines and lists announcements of support group meetings and rallies and offers a moderated message board community for families to share their experiences.

Ganeden Biotech is dedicated to developing and distributing over-the-counter products that substantially improve people’s quality of life. Cleary Confident ® Antifungal Cream costs approximately $19.99 and is available at Walgreen’s, Albertsons, Amazon.com, Brooks/Eckerd, Discount Drug Mart, Long’s Drugs and most internet retailers such as Amazon.com and Drugstore.com.
