Sattler nominated for Joint Staff position

President Bush has nominated Lt. Gen. John Sattler for reappointment to his current grade and a new assignment as the director of strategic plans and policy for the Joint Staff, the Defense Department announced today.
Sattler took command of the Camp Pendleton, Calif.-based I Marine Expeditionary Force in September 2004.
Bush nominated Lt. Gen. Jim Mattis as the commander of I MEF, the Defense Department announced May 30.
