I've been out since 1982, and haven't seen a single benefit!

STOP FREAKING OUT!!!LOL
You are gonna send the troops into seizures!

I can address these issues only on a personal basis. This is not a question that applies to the majority of Marine veterans.

You've already done your part and more. No one here will judge you no matter what you decide is best for your future. We got your back either way Bro.

We all come upon bridges that require sincere thought before we cross them. You need to get advise from all of the sources available to you and make your decision based on that information and what's in your heart. We here at leatherneck have the utmost respect and admiration for you whatever the choice you make Seeley!

Amen to that.

Day-yam brother - I just saw your pics - and that is some serious crossword puzzling on that elbow. You have more then paid your dues - and then some.

Just know that you are loved and appreciated Marine. And ... "Thank you."

In regards to your benefits, get out. My uncle is a Gunny and is retiring in August. He will receive his retirement pay, but as for his disability, he can't collect both. He is only authorized to draw retirement. Financially, you are better off separating. Trust me, that honorable discharge will open doors for you when you are seeking employment. I got out after four years and I draw my disability. True, I'm not pulling any retirement check, but it would suck to get out with a service connected disability of more than 10% and not be compensated for it. Remember, 4-20 years down the road, you will need a job. And if your disability limits your job opportunities, you want to make sure you are taken care of. Good luck bro.
