Could someone please help me out here. My son just left for boot camp this week. The recruiter informed me that I would hear from him letting me know he is okay. Being in the service myself, I know I should have heard something by know. Is there anyone who may have heard anything about this group of Marine recruites out there?

What recruit depot did your son go to? He left a week ago and you haven't heard from him yet. I suggest that you call his recruiter ma'am.

I will call the recruiter in just a few minutes. I am just wanting to make sure he is there and every thing is okay. I am in the service myself and know that it is alot of stuff to do just getting started for boot camp.

Recruiter stated that there was alot of rain and flooding in that area and they may be behind on things. He hasn't heard anything as of yet either.

Viet68, welcome! If Ed says you're a good Marine, then that's all I need to know. I'm glad to see you've found your way here. Again, welcome. Oh, and the beer runs out in the Leatherneck fridge, just pop into mine. I still have eight hefeweizens sitting in the door. ;)

"..eight hefeweizens sitting in the door."
You actually counted them?

Welcome, Viet68. I'll echo the sentiment about being a friend of GySgtRet. (Ed). He's a first class guy. Did some of you rub off on him? LOL
I don't have any beer in the fridge right now but I plan on loading up tonight. What's your pleasure? I have privy to some Singha, Tsing Tao, Cosqueno and good old Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Glad that you could make it over to this website. Park it for a bit and get confortable.

OK, I confess, I'm just a little neurotic. OCD. Whatever you want to call it. <br />

PBR, nice. They sell that at Safeco Field and charge 4...

PBR???? sounds like good old horse p*ss to me, kinda like Coors, (Rocky Mountain P*ss Water, ya know!!)

Guess I am too picky on my choice of malted beverage, I prefer something like a good stout, or an ale.

Welcome aboard Viet68, and if ya don't like their beer grab one of mine and find the opener hangin on the fridge door...

Heh, Camper. I had this tasty Irish Stout at Rock Bottom Brewery over the weekend. I typically am a hefeweizen kind of girl (Widmer or Pyramid). I also like Blue Moon ale, African Amber, Fat Tire, and Newcastle Brown Ale. The best, though, is pretty much any beer that's served in the restaurants over in Germany. Boy, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I even kinda liked the pilsners.

But, I digress...how ya likin' things so far, Viet68? Haha.

And the good thing about PBRs - they float..................I know one fella that's all he drinks cause he said when he's in the boat fishing and one happens to get dropped in the water it will float..................anything else won't, you have to jump overboard to fetch it. AND they're cheap too!
