I've wanted to be a sniper all my life and was just wondering how I would be able to do that?
From what I know, A whole lotta Skill, and a little bit of luck.

Sign a contract that will give you an 03XX MOS, earn the Title, and then hope for the best.

Alright thanks for the help guys. This website is great and its really getting me pumped for enlisting. I have another question for ya'll, I have heard some rumors about a buddy system of sorts that allows you to stick with a fellow marine through boot and stuff. Has anyone heard of this before?

this is starting to amaze me...all these "prospects" want to be Recon, Force Recon or Sniper. they all need to understand that 1st and foremost they need to graduate boot camp, and have an 03 mos first. they need to consentrate on that only.

:marine: you don't have to be a 03 to be a sniper or in force recon. but you will need to be fit as possible and be the best with your rifle. i have known many marines who had other MOS's and accomplished being a sniper or force recon. And yes there is the buddy program where you go to boot camp together and if you have the same MOS you also got to school together.

Trust Me, I Think the Marines are a VERY Special Breed. Just meant that I'm not one of the people that dreams about sneaking behind enemy lines to pull a James Bond, Or something. I'm perfectly happy with being 0300 for my entire coreer in the Corps. (If I make it into the Corps)
