As information; The State of New York is currently issuing medals to all vetrens of World War II, Korea & Vietnam. In order to qualify you must be a current NYS resident, or have been a resident at the time of your entry into service. Depending upon your situation you can qualify for any of three medals; the Conspicuous Service Cross, Conspicuous Service Star and/or the Medal For Merit. You can find the needed forms and information at the NYS Department of Military & Naval Affairs webpage. It takes about 7 months to get your medal but I just received the Medal for Merit and Conspicuous Service Star and they are top quality, as are the accompaning certificates. These are not junk and well worth the minimal effort and cost of a postage stamp to apply for them. Anyone having trouble finding the webpage or needing information on how to qualify apply can e-mail me for advise.
