Thirty-eight years ago, the memories will never fade….
back again to the real world, for some, a trip that was never made.

The dreams of a youngster, and the visions of life….
the family, the friends, some children, a wife.

How is it that some can give all….
while others choose to ignore the beckon of call.

Could it be in the heart, where loyalties live…
and for the cost of freedom some have nothing to give?

Perhaps it’s politicians that have never faced fear….
under the table money, and they have another beer.

It makes no difference to those that gave all….
but Memorial Day is here, and Taps is on call.

just never forget those that had to pay.
