Funeral for a Paratrooper Marine that served at Bougainville, Iwo Jima & Korea.

H&S, 28th Mar Reg, 5th Mar Div, wounded on Iwo (bayonet in side in combat).

Marine DeLeo was a Cpl on Iwo and after WWII he returned to college and became an officer. Went to Korea and retired as a Captain.

Marine DeLeo's house in Rockville, MD burned down a couple of months ago and he was airlifted to Wash. Hospital Center ICU/Burn Unit with 2nd & 3rd degree burns. When he arrived, he told the attending that "I'm an Iwo survivor... this ain't nothing!" I was told this when I went to visit him.

He will be buryed with honors Jun 1, 2006 @ 1015 hrs. at the Arlington National Cemetary. The procession starts at the Chapel.

Wish I was on your side of the country now :( I met someone that was on Iwo Jima when I went to the ball last year held at the Ronald Regean Library. It was an honor!
