How would you feel if this was your child's high school teacher?
Would it bother you?

A Palm Beach County teacher will not be disciplined for posing in photos some parents say are inappropriate. Erica Chevillar is a first year teacher at West Boca Raton High School. Parents objected when students began downloading photos of her modeling bikinis and lingerie.

No, it would not bother me. As an American she has the right to do whatever she wants to do, within the law of course, on her off time just like everyone else. As long as she doesn't bring that mess into the schools, let her be. Besides, teachers don't make that much. She was probably trying to make some extra cash to stock her classroom with paper for copying, extra pens/pencils, up-to-date textbooks, or even space and chairs for everyone to sit. I'll donate $5. :)

Wouldn't bother me, cept how the heck did someone find those photos of her anyway? Someone either had to go digging (that person would be in the wrong for invading a teacher's privacy) or she would have openly displayed it that she did that sort of thing... which would be wrong in the classroom. Something's wrong with it even being an issue. Honestly, if I were in her position, it wouldnt be the school boards' right to tell her she can or can't have a second job no matter what it is. High school's prolly not the best place to advertise though. Just a lot of things are too controversial. It's better to avoid that type of situation in the education profession anyway. It's all situational. As long as the teacher doesn't allow her photos to represent the school in any way, then there's nothing wrong with what she's doing. Parents can get over it. I'm sorry, but these days, people are focusing too much on the small stuff. Maybe if parents focused more on what THEIR KIDS are doing rather than what their TEACHERS are doing, something would result from an education. (BTW I'm 20 and I'm judging my peers and their parents right now)

Just my 2 cents.

Jennifer,

Why wouldn't your kids to have her as a teacher because truthfully just like SgtDBrownRet said what she does on her own time is her business, and no one else.........myself I would love to of had a teacher that looked like that....

I would absolutely love parent teacher night at the school. It don't make a difference what she does on "her" time. Look at those "Datelines" episodes where they catch those online predators. So, who would you rather have teaching your students?? Answer is pretty clear to me.

:p

oh come on now, you and I both know, Jennifer, that hot girls don't go for the guys that can't really provide, drive a car, think on an adult level, and still live with their parents! You wouldn't, and I for hell would NOT ever do such a thing. My man's gotta be someone to look up to, not someone to carry on my back.

I was replying to Jennifer's statement about the weird teachers sleeping with their students and having their babies.

I don't honestly think that a really good looking woman like that teacher would ever sleep with her students. She could probably get someone with a lot of money if she wanted, but honestly, I just wanted to point out the fact that most women don't want children who can't take care of themselves. Those teachers that want their students to have their children are just some weird psycho 1/1,000,000 oddity.

Either way, there's something wrong with people pointing out these photos. Once they were discovered, the right thing to do would be to put it behind ya. That's her life. I'd throw a fit if in high school or college someone decided to freak out b/c I modeled or did something that was out of the ordinary. People have their personal lives. If it doesn't involve school, it doesn't belong at school. That doesn't take away her right to work... as long as she doesnt put the modeling in the classroom.

Ok that sounded better I understood what you were getting at in that post the other post I took it a differenet way, but I totally agree with you if it doesn't happen in the school or have to do with the school what is the big freaking deal. Hell the way I look at it is if it doesn't happen in the school or have to do with the school then let her do porno's if she wants to. I don't care.

It wouldn't bother me, as long as my child was getting the education she/he has a right to. Now if my child was downloading her picture, then my child would be in trouble. They know where they can go and what they can do on the internet, being kids they will try and bend the rules.

My son is 12, and when he gets a haircut older women are always commenting on how handsome he is. Some even "jokingly" tell him to look them up when he is 18. My friend, who works at a high school here, always tell me stories about teachers and students. Last story was about this 17 year old boy and a 35 year old woman. Nasty! If my son comes home with at 17 and starts talking about some 35 year old woman... Let's just say, "I will be in the news" Somebody has to go!
