CHERRY POINT -- The Marine Corps plans to pull out the stops next year for its celebration of the 100th year of aviation.

Scheduled for May 2-4, the Cherry Point biennial air show -- dubbed "From the Beginning to the Beyond ..." for 2003 -- will highlight the history of flight from the Wright Brothers' first flight at Kitty Hawk to the current age of supersonic speed.

"This will be the biggest show ever and the largest event eastern North Carolina has ever seen," said Bob Kenward, Marine Corps Community Services marketing director. "There is nothing that even comes close."
