D'OH!;)

Not a big beer drinker, but ...

Favorite beer: Yeung-ling

Worst beer: Toss up between Rockling Rock and Schlitz. Both are panther ****.

Don't home brew beer. Make wine though - and almost always a white wine (Chardonnay, Chablis and such).

And "yes" - when I drink I glass of wine, I do extend my pinky finger! ;)

When I used to drink;

Best beer: "King of beers" (bottle, not in a can  ), Budweiser
*runner up: Corona w/lime (or without, no matter)

Worst beer: Old Style, PBR, MGD, etc.
*I would of added Falstaff, but I don't think they brew that anymore.

I never drank any home-brewed.

The first thing I will do, if I win the lottery, is buy a beer that is not on sale! Most beers are quite palatable when served ice cold on a hot summer day, even the darker lagers. I prefer pilsener more so than lager. Tennants from Scotland, Tsing Tao from China, Hansa from Dortmunder, San Lucas from El Salvadore, Dos Equi from Mexico, Cosqueno from Peru, Polar from Venezuela, Quilmes from Argentina, Imperial from Nicaragua, Pesidente from Dominican Republic all kind of fall into a good pilsener category.
By the way, Happy Birthday John Mayotte! I'm gonna raise a glass or two on your behalf. Have a good one.

"Thanks for the "salute", but, only two?"

Yep, only two, John. LOL.
I always toast my two sons, all of our Armed Forces members and, naturally, the person who either bought the beer or the person who provided the coins to purchase the beer.
Let's see now; out of a six pack there is one bottle/toast for each of my sons (2), one bottle/toast for the men and women of our Armed Forces (1), one bottle/toast for the provider of the beer (1) and two bottles/toasts for you (2). That means out of six bottles I'm dedicating 2 bottles on your behalf. You're complaining? LMAO.
Have a good one.

Drink Miller Lite
Worst would be a toss up of San Miguel (Phillipines), Peroni (Italy), or MARKET STREET micro brewed here in Nashville TN.

Favorite was Jack Daniels 1869 Amber Lager. Haven't seen it in years, but was full flavored and smooth.

And I'll "SIP AROUND" and try new stuff, but always go back to Miller.

.

Best? Polar from Venezuela for me.

If you want to get a wee lassie a bit looped, serve Solar (sp), the stronger Polar in the gold can.

Gary can probably get Polar down in South Florida. PM him and he can send you a case.

Worst? I didn't know it at the time, because it was all we had, but PBR don't cut it no more. Methinks I drank too much of it in SE Asia.

PBR is the best one to take fishing - it's THE only one that floats. If you drop any other beer out of the boat, you've lost it. PBR floats so all you have to do is reach over and grab it out of the water. Don't believe me? Buy one and test it.

Damm that Blatz. You get drunk on that and you can crap thru a screen mesh without hitting a single wire. Sorry about the description. That stuff will ruin you internally.

PBR used to be a good beer, but, they've changed the recipe or something. A lot of you have listed it as one of the worst to drink. My beer of choice now is Southpaw. A good, stout, cheap beer. The worst that I can recall was a Samual Adams, it was absolutely terrible. Maybe I'm just used to the cheaper beers. After all, after the first swallow it all tastes alike!

Best beer: Bitburger Pils. Had it when I went to Germany on vacation.

Worst beer: Fox Deluxe. For those of you who have been to northern WI and MN, you know what I'm talkin' about. (But when I was a teen in the middle '70's, at $3.50 a case, it was liquid gold!).

I've had that Fox Deluxe. Lets hope it never spreads south, east or west. I think I bought a case of it in 93' for about $6.50/case.

The best when I was on active duty was whatever we could buy with the money we found scrounging through our ashtrays for loose change---especially 3 days before payday. Now? It's Killian's Irish Red. The worst? What ever we could buy with the money we found scrounging.......

lucien2
05-03-06, 04:27 PM
The best was in Okinawa, one day we scrounged up enough for a case of Olympia ($6) and sat up on a hill @ Camp Zukeran and pounded em' hot, we didn't have enough for ice! Why waste good beer money on ice? It was good because it was around 3-4 days before payday. By the waym haven't had Olympia since (that was 1979).
